Mr. Rosenbl­at became associated with the firm in 1992, and as of January 1, 2001, became a member of the firm.  He concentrates on employee benefits, labor-management relations and employment discrimination law.  Mr. Rosenbl­at counsels jointly-administered pension, welfare and apprenticeship funds on compliance with Department of Labor and Internal Revenue Service requirements.  Mr. Rosenblat represents benefit plans in state and federal court litigation.  Mr. Rosenblat also represents unions in federal and state court litigation, before the National Labor Relations Board, the Illinois State and Local Labor Relations Boards, and in arbitration proceedings.  Mr. Rosenblat has a particular expertise in union elections.  Mr. Rosenblat represents employers and individual plaintiffs in employment matters before state and federal administrative agencies and in federal court.  Mr. Rosenblat successfully argued to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn a district court decision in an employment discrimination case and then went on to try the case in the Northern District of Illinois to the satisfaction of his clients.  Most recently, he represented retired Teamsters in a class-action suit against United Parcel Service in a claim over retiree healthcare.  Mr. Rosenblat, along with firm partner Patrick N. Ryan, prevailed at trial and before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Rosenbl­at presents sexual harassment and employment discrimination seminars for the firm's clients.  He spoke on the "Status of the Trust Fund as an Employer" at the International Foundation for Employee Benefit Plans annual conference.  He contributed to the treatise Employee Benefits Law, published by the Bureau of National Affairs and wrote with Bernard M. Baum, "Merging Benefit Funds," published in Employee Benefit Issues, the Multiemployer Perspective, 2000.  Mr. Rosenblat is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the American Bar Association, the AFL-CIO Lawyers' Coordinating Committee and the Illinois State Crime Commission.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Rosenbl­at produced Emmy award-winning television news commentaries. M­r. Rosenbl­at is a member of the Federal Trial Bar, admitted to practice in Illinois and in the United States District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois, the Northern District of Indiana, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.  Mr. Rosenblat earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with honors and distinction from the University of Illinois and his law degree from DePaul University.
