Laura M. Finnegan, Partner

Ms. Finnegan has been a partner of the Firm since January 2003. She began her career at Baum Sigman in 1993. Her practice concentrates on the areas of employee benefits, the collection of employer contributions to Taft-Hartley funds, as well as labor and employment law. In those areas, she has defended Taft-Hartley funds in employee benefits claims, counseled Taft-Hartley funds on various issues of compliance with federal laws, assisted in the negotiation of several PPO contracts for her Taft-Hartley clients, litigated numerous fringe benefit contribution collection cases, and litigated individual as well as class action employment discrimination cases.

Ms. Finnegan has been a contributing editor to the Developing Labor Law, 1995 through 1999 supplements, and the Fourth Edition published in 2001. She is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the American Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association. She is licensed to practice in Illinois and Wisconsin and is a member of federal bars in Illinois and Wisconsin as well as being admitted to the federal trial bar in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Ms. Finnegan received her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. John's College, Annapolis, Maryland, and her law degree from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology.
